World of Warcraft has a never-ending list of collectibles spanning two decades of content. There are over 800 collectible mounts in the game, and Dragonflight added 40 more, presumably even more to follow. Not only that, but the newest expansion also added ways to customize the new Drakes or even fully transform them into a rare look.

But alas, if collecting mounts were an easy task, every player would be sitting in their personal petting zoo. For casuals who don't have much time (and luck) to chase down every mount, it helps to find out which of the new mounts on Dragonflight is an excellent addition to your collection.
8 Otterworldly Ottuk Carrier
The Otterwordly Ottuk Carrier is a blue, spectral Otter donning a miniature armor set resembling a dragon. Unfortunately, the adorable mount is only unlocked through a gargantuan achievement where you have to obtain five-hundred mounts. You can use add-ons and external websites to expedite the process, but it will still consume much of your time.
The reward for the determined mount collector is an all-terrain creature that can skitter fast, fly, and swim as agile as an aquatic mount. It can also use the Inflatable Mount Shoes to move even faster. So in terms of pure practicality, you'll never need any other mount (apart from Dragonriding, of course).
7 Crimson Gladiator's Drake
Feast your eyes on an intimidating Dragon clad in spiky bronze armor that glows a menacing scarlet hue. The exclusive reward is only for the battle-hardened players who achieved Gladiator: Dragonflight Season, granted after winning fifty 3v3 games on the Elite PVP Rank (2400+). While the mount itself is already great, there's nothing else like slowly riding through Valdrakken to boast about your PVP skills.

The Crimson Gladiator's Drake is the only unique Dragonriding mount, not counting the ones given to you throughout the campaign. It's safe to assume that there won't be many more like it, as Dragonflight leans more towards customizing Drakes instead.
6 Verdant Skitterfly
The Verdant Skitterfly is one of three huge grasshopper-like mounts available in Dragonflight. Compared to the creatures and beasts of high fantasy, the Verdant Skitterfly stands out as a realistic depiction of an insect. However, collectors with entomophobia might want to stray away from this long-legged insect, especially when it starts fluttering and skittering.
All three Skitterflies are unlocked by reaching max reputation with the Dragonscale Expedition. Afterward, you can purchase the Azure and Tamed variants from Granpap Whiskers. But the Verdant Skitterfly is a rare drop from collecting Expedition Scout's Pack.
5 Zenet Hatchling
Hailing from the Ohn'ahran Plains, the Zenet Hatchling is a crimson avian that looks ferocious with its pattern resembling fire. Riding a fiery bird looks the best if you're playing a small race, like Gnome or Vulpera, because it looks like a small animal has conquered an angry chicken. It's also fun to stick a back-breaking giant Tauren that barely fits on the saddle for a comedic effect.
You can get the mount from Zenet Avis, an elite mob that flies around a Teerakai. Fortunately, defeating the bird will guarantee her egg to drop, which will hatch into a mount after seven days. Anyone who's played Wrath of the Lich King will remember how it feels to hunt for the Time-Lost Proto-Drake.
4 Loyal Magmammoth
The Loyal Magmammoth is a towering war elephant imbued in heat and lava, as evident by its scaling lower body and hardened exterior. Compared to the Plainswalker Bearer from the plains, the Loyal Magmammoth is a more intimidating sight. There's also a small detail where it leaves lava puddles where it walks, even disappearing on water.

Before getting the mount, you'll have to max out your reputation with both Wrathion and Sabellian by pledging your loyalty to one of them before participating in quests at the Obsidian Citadel. Only then can you tame a wild Magmammoth to your side by using the items provided by their quartermasters.
3 Magmashell
In a game where you can ride on the backs of towering monsters and imposing beasts, there's nothing funnier than hitching a ride on the back of a Lava Snail. The Lava Snail has this adorable idea animation where it recoils back into its shell and does a few spins for you. Don't worry about the speed because your little friend can keep up with other ground mounts.
As far as farming mounts go, it's easy to acquire—provided luck is on your side (or a little gold). Start by looting the Empty Magma Shell from either the Lavaslurper or Basalt Shell near the Obsidian Citadel. Then, fly to the Empowered Snail at the bottom of Scalecracker Keep and interact with it to claim your precious new best friend.
2 Temperamental Skyclaw
The Temperamental Skyclaw mount summons a sleek, rugged Slyvern that looks like a cross between a fox, a bat, and a ravenous dog that's cute from some angles. You can get the flying mount by feeding it three food items that are implied to be Tuskarr meat, which is looted from gnolls at different parts of the Azure Span. The nimble beast has a wild running animation where it runs like it's on the hunt, perfect for instanced content like dungeons.

You can also purchase these items at the Auction House for a fair price. Once collected, head to the Three-Falls Lookout and talk to Stable Master Zon'Wogi. If you bring the required items, you can feed the hungry Slyvern and take it to the skies.
1 Embodiment Of The Storm-Eater
The new Dragonriding mounts are also accompanied by Drakewatcher Manuscripts, Glyhps that unlock customization options to personalize your Drake. One awesome Glyph is the Embodiment of the Storm-Eater Manuscript, which fully transforms your Renewed Proto-Drake into Raszageth, albeit one that doesn't constantly scream her attacks.
The Embodiment of the Storm-Eater is a picture perfectly scaled down Raszageth, complete with a body that surges with crackling lightning. Your pocket Raszageth arrives with a terrifying screech when summoned. Furthermore, she's noticeably larger than the other Drakes. The model is perfect, and here's hoping that more legendary Dragons will also receive the same treatment—imagine your own tamed Deathwing.
