In the time that I've been a student at Alief ISD, I've seen many aspects that have allowed me to become the student that I am today and enhanced my educational experience from when I was a student at my previoys district. There are certain aspects of the district that are also, without question, in need of improvement and renovations, whether it's the facilities or increasing student retention. Despite this, I am grateful to have attended this district because it's been eye opening and has allowed me to diversify my personal perspectives about my surroundings here. I've also met wonderful friends and faculty that have been pillars of why I am fond of the district because they've allowed me to view the many backgrounds that people come from and how they build this district and community.

The school district is currently in a bad neighborhood most of the schools except for a handful are pretty lacking. A lot of the students act disrespectfully towards the teachers and do not want to learn at school. The district may turn around with their new superintendent but it will take some time. I would recommend doing high school here as they have a few really good high schools. Kerr High School is top-ranked and is really great. The district overall does not have high math scores and poor reading scores. funding has become a problem, but they do pay for all your AP tests and will pay for your dual credit. Some schools require you to pay for your AP classes. The district also pays for your SAT and pays for multiple PSATs to make sure that you are college-bound. If I was a parent I would only send my child to certain programs that the district has. They have a brand new early child learning center. it is a completely new building and it is quite nice.
